China Seismological Reference Model (CSRM)
中国区域地震学参考模型

The uppermost mantle seismic Pn-velocity model is inverted from a new tomographic scheme integrating a combined dataset of 32,427 absolute Pn travel times and 62,431 interstation Pn differential travel times (Ma et al., 2023). The model has spatial resolutions of 0.75° × 0.75°–1° × 1° in the north-south seismic belt and 1.5° × 1.5°–3° × 3° in other regions. The combined Pn travel time dataset used for the inversion of the model is selected from 95,878 Pn travel times manually picked from the recordings of 3,446  seismic stations deployed in and around continental China for a total of 6,787 seismic events between 1992 and 2020. Please click on the link to download the dataset.

The seismological constraints for modeling are extracted from the original (Level 1) data of 3446 seismic stations in continental China region during the period from 1992 to 2020. The extracted seismological observations (Level 2 data) include: 1) 95,878 Pn-wave arrivals manually picked from the P-wave data of 6,787 regional seismic events; 2) 433 epicenter locations of event initiation points obtained based on the Pn-time inversion; 3) 281 Pn travel times in the crust beneath stations obtained by the Pn-time inversion; and 4) 433 Pn travel times in the crust beneath seismic events. The above Level 2 datasets have been released at the same time, please click the link https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.8103561 to download the Level 2 data.
