Confidentiality requirements for the original data of the “China Seismological Reference Model”

1. Data users must strictly abide by the “中华人民共和国保守国家秘密法”, “防震减灾工作国家秘密范围的规定 (中震办发 [2009] No. 64)” and “地震科学数据共享管理办法 (中震发测 [2006] No. 65)”. The precise coordinates of seismic stations equivalent to national level control points are classified as confidential information with a long-term confidentiality period, and their storage and use should be in accordance with the relevant confidentiality regulations. It is strictly forbidden to transmit seismic station latitude and longitude data through public networks (Email, QQ, etc.); seismic station longitude and latitude parameters are not allowed to appear in public papers in text form, Data and Resources, Electronic Supplement, etc.
2. Data users shall not make the seismic waveform data, basic seismic station parameters and response parameter files available in any way for use by other persons outside of mainland China.
3. The right to use the data is limited to the users of this data and the subject members whose signatures guarantee compliance with this agreement. Each signatory member has the rights and obligations of an individual user. If the data user makes the data available to others in violation of this provision, the data user will assume all responsibility and consequences arising therefrom; if a member of the data user’s subject group makes the data available to others in violation of this provision, both the data user and its subject group members will assume all responsibility and consequences arising therefrom.

For data users who violate the above confidentiality rules, the Product Center will permanently cancel their data sharing rights and notify the data center that provided the original data and the department responsible for it. Violators are responsible for the legal and political responsibilities caused by the violation.
